On the periphery of Acton lies Gunnersbury Lane – a main road which connects Acton Town to Acton High Street. And it is where this lane meets a pleasant residential avenue that we found our site. Just a few minutes’ walk to leafy parks, a parade of shops and Acton Town underground station, we built nine intricately-designed apartments.
Named Willett Grove after William Willett, the founder of the Mill Hill Park conservation area, it’s a place to settle in and feel at home. Somewhere to meet new neighbours, sip sundowners on the balcony, and take in a leafy view. The development gives more than a little nod to the architectural style of the surrounding residential roads. Although contemporary in design, it is important that the building feels like it belongs.
According to the estate appraisal in 1877, founder and namesake William Willett placed great importance on daylight, something that’s inspired the emphasis on natural light within the design of the apartments.

Wood paneling and old filament style lamps in the bedrooms create a cosy feel, rich with heritage, and zoned underfloor heating adds to the comfort factor. Bathrooms and kitchens use clean lines, modern detailing and a textured grey palette to bring a more contemporary aesthetic. The overall design reflects a strong commitment to comfort and quality.
